SINGING FOR SANCTUARY

Howth Gospel Choir in North Dublin opened up the whole concept of choirs of sanctuary in Ireland on World Peace Day (21st September) when they dedicated their gig in Donaghmede Shopping Centre to City of Sanctuary Dublin and held a collection in aid of welcoming newly arriving refugees and asylum seekers. The gig and the idea were both really well received, important links were established, and several other choirs have expressed an interest in doing something similar. What about your choir, or a multi-choir sing-athon for sanctuary in your city?
